Petite and charming, the Mia crossbody bag is a stylish addition to any outfit. It’s compact design is perfect for carrying essentials on a night out, at a concert, or to a stadium event. With removable straps, it can also help organize items inside a larger bag. In this class, you will learn how to assemble and sew a vinyl bag while improving your zipper and hardware application skills—techniques you can use in future projects.
Although this pattern may be completed using a variety of materials, this class will focus on bag construction with faux leather and vinyl.
You should have full working knowledge of your sewing machine.

- MAIN FABRIC: Cut (2) 12” by 4.5” for Exterior Top (piece A)
- MAIN FABRIC: Cut (1) 3”by 3.5” for Strap Connectors (piece B)
- CONTRAST FABRIC: Cut (2) 1.5” by 25” for Adjustable Strap (piece C)
- CONTRAST FABRIC: Cut (2) 12” by 4.25” for Exterior Bottom (piece D)
- CONTRAST FABRIC: Cut (2) 1” by 1.25” for Zipper Tabs (piece E)
- LINING FABRIC: Cut (2) 12” by 8” (piece F)
- Fusible fleece or woven fusible stabilizer cut (2) 12” by 8” (I used fusible fleece to provide more structure to the bag)
- Two ¾” D rings
- Two ¾” swivel hooks
- One ¾” strap slider
- Zipper tape with decorative pull (we will cut the zipper to 7.5” in class)
- Microtex needles size 80/12
- Walking foot, zipper foot, Teflon foot (depending on your fabric)
- Ruler

Class Cancellation Policy
To reserve a seat, all Pocono Sew & Vac classes must be paid in full upon registration. In the event that a student needs to cancel their reservation for a class, they should notify PS&V at least 7 days in advance (by phone) to be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before class will not be issued a refund.
If a class does not have the minimum number of participants 7 days prior to class day, the teacher will cancel class. The customer will be fully refunded within 7 to 10 business days. Any questions call PS&V at 800-442-8227.
Some classes require homework to be done before class, such as cutting/prepping fabrics. If homework is required, it will be posted in the class description. Please read the class description thoroughly before signing up before a class. If homework is not done by the start of class, you will not be able to attend, and a refund will not be issued.
